Role Overview
A client of byteSpark.ai is seeking a seasoned Group Chief Human Resources Officer to lead the HR function for a major, diversified conglomerate based in the UAE. This pivotal role involves setting the strategic direction for human capital across a vast portfolio of businesses, including over 200 retail stores, extensive logistics and warehousing operations, ports, automobile showrooms, and educational institutions. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader responsible for developing and implementing group-wide HR policies that foster a high-performance culture while addressing the unique needs of each business sector. You will oversee talent management, organizational development, compensation and benefits, and employee relations on a massive scale. This position requires a strategic partner to the executive team, driving human capital initiatives that align with the conglomerate's ambitious growth objectives in the region.
Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a Group CHRO or equivalent C-level role for a large conglomerate.
- Proven experience developing and executing HR strategy across multiple diverse industries such as retail, logistics, automotive, and education.
- Demonstrable experience leading HR for a large-scale retail workforce, preferably with a network of 200+ stores.
- In-depth knowledge and practical application of UAE Labour Law and regulations.
- Experience in large-scale organizational design, change management, and post-merger integration.
- Expertise in designing and managing group-level compensation, benefits, and performance management systems.
- Strong track record in senior executive talent acquisition, succession planning, and leadership development.
- Experience with implementing and managing enterprise-level HRIS and HR technology platforms.
Desirable
- MBA or Master's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHRi, FCIPD).
- Fluency in Arabic.
- Experience managing HR within an educational institution or school system.
- Strong existing network and relationships with government bodies and authorities in the UAE.
